Jumilhac Le Grand - Day One: 10-13km
This impressive chateau over looks the river Isle and is just as imposing when seen from the other side. We start todays run from right infront of the castle and head off through the small town, down towards the river Isle. Passing over the little wooden bridge we then climb up the rocky outcrop and have an imposing view of the chateau across the valley. A run along ancient chemins passing moulins, an old school house along a tiny track.......

St Jean de Cole - Day Two: 8-12km
This quaint village is the starting point of our run today. Voted as one of the prettiest villages in France you will feel like you are stepping back in time as we run through the ancient streets, see the historic church, chateau and watermill as we run across the cobbled bridge before heading out along some old woodland trails. We finish the loop back along the old railway line.....

Compostelle - Day Three: 8-12km or 18km
The famous Saint Jacques de Compostelle passes through the Dordogne and very near to us, so we can hop on the famous pilgrim trail and run a mere section of this route. We will join the route at Thiviers, the capital of Foie Gras and follow this pilgrim trail to the village of Sorges, which is famous world wide for its truffles. Passing duck farms, truffle orchards, snail farms, and free range pigs todays route is in the heart of the Dordogne countryside....

Brantome - Day Four: 8-10km or 13km
This historic town is known as "The Venice of the Perigord" as the river Dronne encircles the town. Its ancient abbey dominates the river and it is home to the oldest bell in France. Todays run is one of my personal favourites, we pass ancient watermills, hidden caves, narrow single track trails, undulating paths, we start our run through the ancient back streets, pass over the river Dronne and head out into the countryside.....

Excideuil - Day Five: 8km or 14/15km
The market town of Excideuil with its impossing chateau looking across the countryside is where we start todays run. A chance to have a look around the local market before we head out on some great woodland trails that pass the "Enchanted Rocks". This massive limestone plateau is home to a whole network of underground caves, we will pass by several cave entrances on our run today.....

St Paul La Roche - Day Six: 8km or -10/12km
Beautiful tracks and trails straight from the doorstep, I will show you my little running trail where I get my speed work done, and sneak along the trails by the river enjoying the relaxing surroundings, there are 2 moulins along the stretch of river I run, tucked away quietly hidden from through traffic. The nearby village of Saint Paul La Roche is also worth us exploring with its Knights Templar house and a Geosite where a giant meteorite fell thousands of years ago......
